Bio:
Carly Rose Kolstad is a student at the University of Connecticut School of Law and a visiting student at the University of Hawaiʻi’s William S. Richardson School of Law. Upon graduation, she aspires to work in agricultural law, which includes a fusion of environmental, land, labor, and immigration law. It is Carly Rose’s dream to support the land and the people who steward it. Her legal experience so far includes serving as a paralegal for a female owned and operated family law firm and interning for Maui Corporation Counsel, both in Wailuku, Hawai’i. She is additionally a research fellow for the National Agricultural Law Center.
Prior to law school, Carly Rose worked in various aspects of food systems including teaching Agricultural Sciences and Gardening at an elementary school, installing agroforests, managing farm to table dinners, working with animals and commercial production on 425 acres, contributing and editing food journalism, and serving with a disaster relief project. She is a former fellow of the Multinational Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture and has a certificate in Agroecology. Outside of studying (if there is such a thing) you can find her foraging, reading Murakami, writing, surfing, and putting her hands in the soil.

Name: Mason Cooper

Bio:
Mason Cooper is a 2L at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he serves as a Staff Editor for the Journal of Food Law & Policy and as the 2L Representative for the Food and Agricultural Law Society. He is from Siloam Springs, Arkansas and completed his undergraduate degree in history at the University of Alabama. Mason is interested in regulatory compliance, transactional law, and litigation as it relates to agriculture and food systems—particularly how the law shapes sustainability and corporate responsibility. Outside of the legal field, Mason enjoys helping on his family’s farm and spending time outdoors with his dog, Goose.

Name: Francesca Fazio
FLSN Position: Communications Chair
Law School: Pace Law
Bio: Frankie is a 3L at Pace Law pursing an advanced certificate in environmental law. She is from NJ, the garden state! She is passionate about environmental issues, especially those impacting animals and agricultural issue are at the forefront of that cross-section. She is involved on campus with the Pace Environmental Law Review, the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, and a is a Dean Scholar. She is excited to work with FLSN to spread education about Food Law issues and work towards a sustainable, ethical, and cruelty free food structure. A fun fact is that her favorite fruit are plums and that she planted plum tree in her backyard so she could grow them herself!
