2023 Food Law Student Leadership Summit
March 31 – April 2 | Yale University
The Food Law Student Leadership Summit convenes law students from around the country who share a passion for creating a transparent, equitable, just, and sustainable food system. Food law and policy is a fast-growing field within the legal profession and society at large.
The 2023 Summit will be held March 31st – April 2nd in New Haven, Connecticut at Yale University. The event will be co-hosted by the Yale Law School, Yale School of the Environment, The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, Food Law Student Network, and the Harvard Food Law Policy Clinic.
The Food Law Student Leadership Summit was launched in 2015 at Harvard Law School by the Food Law and Policy Clinic, with support from the Charles M. Haar Food and Health Law and Policy Fund and GRACE Communications Foundation. This annual Summit convenes students from around the country who share a passion for food law.
“Rethinking Resilience” will feature a variety of lectures and panel discussions covering cutting-edge law and policy considerations on today’s most pressing environmental issues. Current topics include ocean and coastal justice, food sovereignty, indigenous knowledge, sustainable business, and the Farm Bill.
During the conference, attendees will have a chance to meet and listen to top food and environmental lawyers, policymakers, academics, and movement leaders. If interested, there is also an opportunity for accepted students to participate in a mariculture-themed policy simulation that will take course throughout the run of the conference.
